About Spotlist
Claim your playlist. Climb the board.
Spotlist is the live Spotify playlist leaderboard — every boost pushes a playlist up the board, permanently.
Spotlist is a public promotional leaderboard exclusively for Spotify playlists. Claim a playlist from Spotify or boost one already on the board. Playlists with the most boosts rise to the top.
Spotlist sells promotional placement on the independent Spotlist leaderboard. It does not sell playlist ownership, music rights, Spotify ranking, or guaranteed streams.
The boards
Spotlist is global — there are no country markets. One boost can affect every board that includes the playlist. The boards rank playlists over different periods of time.
- All-time is the main board. Rank is based on all boosts a playlist has received.
- Weekly ranks playlists by the boosts they received during the weekly period.
- Today ranks playlists by the boosts they received during the current daily period.
How ranking works
- Every playlist starts with the boosts it has received.
- Each new boost adds to that playlist's lifetime total.
- The playlist with the highest boost total for the selected board is #1.
- Anyone can boost a playlist. You do not need to be the creator or owner.
- Already on Spotlist? Boost the existing playlist instead of claiming it again.
- Rankings can change whenever another playlist receives a boost.
- A boost only counts after payment has been successfully completed.
What you can claim
Spotlist is for Spotify playlists. Accept only https://open.spotify.com/playlist/… URLs — not tracks, albums, artists, or other Spotify pages.
Playlists and links that violate Spotlist's Terms of Service are not allowed and may be removed.
Playlist details
When you claim a playlist, Spotlist reads the title, artwork, and optional creator, track count, and save count from the Spotify playlist page. You pick the category.
Once a playlist is published, those fields are locked — including to admin. Claiming or boosting does not give you ownership of the playlist record or any management rights over it.
Categories
Playlists are organized into 20 categories to make the leaderboard easier to explore. A playlist belongs to exactly one category, and that category cannot change after publish.
After you boost
- A completed payment adds the boost to the playlist.
- The playlist's ranking is recalculated based on its updated boost total.
- New playlists become publicly visible after a successful claim and payment.
- Clicking a playlist or ADD PLAYLIST takes visitors to the canonical Spotify playlist URL.
- Boosting a playlist does not give you ownership, editing rights, or control over it.
- A boost is for ranking on Spotlist; it is not a purchase of the playlist itself.
Boosts are paid through Dodo Payments, on a hosted checkout page. Spotlist never sees your card details and keeps no account for you. All boosts are final. By completing a boost, you agree to Spotlist's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
